Thursday rant

I'm yelling here because I don't want to annoy the neighbors......plug your ears, here goes......

***What has happened to people that they think it's acceptable to ask people to help pay their bills? I don't mean someone who has had some unimaginable disaster happen to them. I mean normal, everyday people who are working and insured, etc. Case in point. A retired Navy officer's wife was involved in an accident. She has to have reconstructive surgery on her jaw. For some strange reason the insurance isn't covering it???? Why not? It was a direct result of the accident. Anyway HE has come right out and asked people to help pay for her out of pocket and living expenses while she recovers. Now a poker run has been put together to raise funds. Nobody offered to help after our accident and we have struggled to pay our out of pocket expenses and bills that weren't covered.

***There was a fatal motorcycle accident on US441 at Newfound Gap between Gatlinburg and Cherokee yesterday. An SUV crossed the centerline, hit a car, running it off the road and then hit a motorcycle head on, killing the driver and passenger. Comments on news stories are questioning if the biker was riding recklessly.....WHAT THE FUCK? He was in his own lane, BEHIND the CAR that was hit FIRST. What else could he have done? The SUV was in HIS lane. Oh, I get it he was a BIKER on a MOTORCYCLE....he and his passenger should have been in a car and they would still be alive.

***The CEO of a company about 45 miles away was riding his bike, legally on the highway. Woman in a van decides she just HAS to find her cellphone and digs in her purse to find it (it's NOT ringing)....she hits and kills him. People are commenting that he should NOT have been on the road....he should have been on a track.....IT'S NOT ILLEGAL TO BE ON THE ROAD. What was SO important that she just HAD to find the phone???

***There is a lawsuit filed against Navistar involving the fatal school bus accident here in town almost 3 years ago. The accident was caused by another student (in his own car) who was racing to beat the bus to the interstate exit, lost control and hit the bus. HOW IS IT THE MANUFACTURER'S FAULT??? If the kid had been on the bus or just not trying to race it the accident WOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED. Oh, the kid and his family are suing the car manufacturer because the car wrecked.....WHAT THE FUCK? HE WAS SPEEDING AND LOST CONTROL....how is that the car makers fault? How about it's the parents fault for buying their irresponsible teen a car that was beyond his ability to drive (it was not a beat up old hoopty). Your kid does not need a muscle car at 16.
